Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) Fertility Test

This is a blood test to determine woman's ovarian reserve, which helps to diagnose premature ovarian aging in woman.

What is Anti Mullerian Hormone (AMH)?

It is a hormone produced in ovarian follicles by granulosa cells.

During preantral and antral stages AMH production is very high. AMH is not made when more than 8mm. This test can be conducted on any day of women's menstrual cycle.

Fertility and AMH

As the woman's age increases, the AMH level falls. High AMH level hormones are present in woman with small follicles as that with polycystic ovaries.
