Irregular menstruation can be due to malnutrition, excessive exercise, PCO and the hormonal imbalance. Therefore, it is difficult to calculate the date of ovulation. These patients must approach a gynecologist for further evaluation and to correct their ovulation.

If the woman has a regular period and she feels she is ovulating but not conceiving with timed intercourse should consult a gynecologist for basic evaluation and tubal patency test.

What is the Test We must do?

The husband should undergo a routine semen analysis after 3-4 days abstinence preferably semen is collected in the vicinity of the lab or hospital. The wife should undergo a vaginal examination, ultrasound scan, tubal potency test.

If there is a problem can it be corrected?

Yes, if the sperm count is very low or motility is very low the man must consult an Andrologist.

If a woman has ovulatory disorders, few blood tests will help to find out the cause and if it can be corrected with proper medication and it can be done. Sometimes a surgical procedure like keyhole surgery for PCO may be necessary.
